Student Success
Learning Community students have achieved many honors at CAC. Donna Pfaff was awarded the Aravaipa Service Award and the CAC Foundation Scholarship. Pfaff works in the Learning Center and is president of Working in New Directions (WIND). Kimberly McCain won the Outstanding Arts and Science Students award and Adolfo Espinoza won the Outstanding Business and Technology Students award. Martha Salcedo received an Associate of Arts Scholarship, and Melissa Wahlquist received the Academics Plus award. The following students who attended the Learning Community have been on the Deans list: Sarah Belknap, John Deem, Adolfo Espinoza, Frances Estrada, Erica Kent, Kimberly McCain, Wendy Nielson, Mary Ortiz, Donna Pfaff, Martha Salcedo, Jamie Saunders, Catherine Starks, and Melissa Wahlquist. Marla Lucero and Jamie Saunders have appeared on the Honors List. Adolfo Espinoza, Mary Ortiz, and Donna Pfaff were inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, the national community college honorary. Catherine Starks and Marla Lucero are officers of the Student Leadership Board. The current average grade point average (GPA) of Learning Community graduates is 3.35, a grade of A.
